When we moved to Denmark, I was shocked to find out that they have NO SLOW COOKERS HERE! What??????!!!!!!!?????? I was pretty bummed because I use my slow cooker a lot! In the past 6 months, I've said over and over again, "life would be so much easier with a Slow Cooker." I guess my constant complaints finally wore Chad down, because he started looking around and found that Amazon.UK sells Slow Cookers and ships them to Denmark! Yay!!! Within minutes, we had one purchased and on its way. Well, guess what showed up today! My brand new, straight from England, Slow Cooker! And I've already got dinner in it cooking!

In Slow Cooker Heaven
When we moved to Denmark, I was shocked to find out that they have NO SLOW COOKERS HERE! What??????!!!!!!!?????? I was pretty bummed because I use my slow cooker a lot! I guess my constant complaints finally wore Chad down, because he started looking around and found that Amazon.UK sells Slow Cookers and ships them to Denmark! Yay!!! Within minutes, we had one purchased and on its way. Well, guess what showed up today! My brand new, straight from England, Slow Cooker! And I've already got dinner in it cooking!

ReplyDeleteI cooked Natalie's pulled pork recipe posted in the family blog and froze the leftovers in portions as she recommended. Blake has been taking it to work for lunch while he was here and making co workers jealous. he took the recipe to them so they could make their own. when he got home to arizona he called for the recipe. I have shared the idea with Avela who has a lot of company this next few weeks and she is planning on borrowing my crock pot to make it on Monday. (I should make it on Monday as well because Kent's brother and wife and Jordyn and Ben are coming this week). I think you should make it, dinner for a night or two and lunch for Chad for quite a while. Let me know if you need ingredients. can't help you with the liquid smoke but we have a home made bbq recipe if you need it.
ReplyDeleteI'm very happy for you that you got your crock pot. I was trying to think of a way to get one to you. :) I can't believe that it's been 6 months since we saw you last. I've enjoyed reading your blog, but it's not the same as visiting with you. Sometimes after reading your blog, it's easy to think that this is just a grand adventure in you life and not realize how hard it has been. You and Chad are really an inspiration to us.

ReplyDeleteQuestion - I get the message that amazon will not ship the cooker to DK. Did you do anything "special" to order it and get it sent to DK?

I put the link to the slow-cooker we bought below. in the product details there was a link to see what destinations it would ship to. I made sure that Denmark was on the list before I bought it. I think several sellers on amazon.uk don't ship outside of the UK. Good luck

Hi! Thank you for your blog! We just moved to dk from USA and I was just searching to see if there's a reason there aren't slow cookers here when I found this. I was wondering if it was cultural or more of an energy usage issue?? I am definitely missing mine! Thank you!
