We are eating lunch at the park and yes, that is a castle behind us. I just LOVE that we can have a picnic at the park with a Castle in the background. =)
Awwww....... Baby sheep.
Spring!
Lexi learns to ride her 2-wheeler!
We found this fun playground with an obstacle course.
This is one of the only things I like about living in an apartment complex. Lots of kids for my kids to play with. I think this night we counted about 25 kids out there playing together. So fun!
Enjoying the non-crowded beach! Too cold for swimsuits or water, but the sun was out!
BBQ with the Jensen's and the Elder Christensen and Elder Berry.

Photo Challenge Week #21 - Old Buildings
We
live in Europe, so this one was just too easy! We have a 14th century
church just a couple of blocks from us. But, just around the corner, we
also have this old farmhouse. It was built in 1916, young for Denmark,
but we often chuckle about how in Utah, something a 100 hundred years
old would be a Historical Monument, whereas here, people are still
living in homes that are 400 years old.
The farmhouse is called Birkelund and is now being used an art exhibit, where they host small concerts and art exhibitions. It's a very beautiful building and setting.

Dandelions
We got together with our friends Alaina and Olivia with the plans to go to a little animal farm near our home. But it was closed. Luckily, we found this awesome field of Dandelions. The kids had so much fun playing in the field and were all soaking wet and dirty from the wet ground. It was so fun and the pictures just look so pretty!
Myra and Lexi were in flower-picking heaven. Normally, we don't like them to pick flowers. They can be very obsessive about it. But we figured this was a good chance for them to go for it. HUGE bouquets of dandelions ensued. Silly girls!
Can you believe how cute these 2 are? I'm really kind of hoping they get married some day. These would make the best Engagement pictures, right? So cute!
The group picture of the kids didn't really work out so well. They wouldn't sit next to each other.

Ridderturning 2013
We had such a fun time going last year, that we knew we would want to go
again this year. Once again, it was an incredibly hot day! We had a
lot of fun looking at the booths, watching the jousting and mock
fighting and other displays.
Can you pick the kids out in the crowd? They were very fascinated. |
These flag dancers were really fun to watch. |
We took a little break to eat our lunch and of course the kids found some sticks to start sword fighting with one another. This is Noah playing dead. |
I LOVE the dirt on her nose. So cute! |

Photo Challenge Week #19 - Flowers
I'm disappointed with myself for not taking a better flower picture this week. The flowers are really starting to come out all over. It's so beautiful. These are from some type of flowering tree. So pretty!

Myra turns 8!!!!!
How is it possible that I have an 8 year old?!? EIGHT!!!!! Birthdays are always super exciting around here. About 364 days before their birthday, the kids will start planning it all out. What "theme" they want, what gifts they want, who they want to invite. Very exciting. Myra's favorite princess is Ariel, from the Little Mermaid. Even though she never wants to watch the movie (it's too scary), she loves the princess from it. So, I made a poster and a crown for her with the Little Mermaid on them. It was a holiday weekend and the day before her birthday, everything was closed, so we had to go to the store that morning to pick up some things for her birthday party the next day. That afternoon we went swimming at an indoor pool in Glostrup. It was a great place, with 2 kiddie pools that had a bunch of fun toys and a big slide we could all go down. We played in the water for several hours and then let the kids play in the giant indoor softplay area. It was a lot of fun. That night we ate her favorite food, Taco Soup for dinner, skyped with grandparents and opened presents. As you can see, she was pretty excited about the petshop dolls that Noah gave her. Lexi gave her a barbie and she got a scooter from Chad and I.
The next day, we hosted a friend party for her. We had debated for a while about what to do because of the language barrier between us and Myra's friends. We finally decided on lunch and a movie, opening presents and dessert. But, we vastly overestimated the time we needed to do these activities and it ended up being the longest birthday party every. I think the kids all had a lot of fun though, it was just so challenging not being able to communicate with the kids and although Myra can translate for us, she just wanted to play. We ended up with 10 kids. They watched Gnomeo and Juliet in Danish, ate lunch, cake, and we tried playing a few games, like a bike rice and twister. They mostly just played with toys and each other. Myra had a great time, even though Chad and I were a little relieved when it was all over.
This is a very special birthday for Myra, with her turning 8 and making the choice to be baptized. The past 8 years have been so wonderful with Myra. She is such a wonderful, smart, loving, happy girl. She is such a joy to have in our family.
