Børnefest 2013

The kids were really excited to participate in the Børnefest this year.  Especially since they all got to go this time.  I have to admit that a certain amount of anxiety enters my mind at the thought of sending my kids off for 3 days with 500 other kids to basically fend for themselves.  Ok, maybe that's an exaggeration, but really, it is a pretty crazy event.  The younger kids are watched pretty closely by their teacher, although Myra does get a pretty big leash at the event.  They run off to play in the woods and climb the big hill.  There are cooking pits everywhere.  Lots of places to get hurt.  Luckily, the kids went through the week with no injuries and lots of fun.  Tuesday and Wednesday were beautiful days and the kids had so much fun.  It rained the 3rd day, so it was cancelled for Lexi and Noah.  Myra came home soaking wet, but still had a good time.
Also, I had to drop Myra off about an hour and a half before Lexi and Noah, so I had a really fun time with them hanging out at the park and enjoying the sun.  What a fun activity!
So many kids!

Yeah, no adult supervision, no ropes attached, use at your own risk!

Cute baby swans

Collecting rocks.  Pockets full of rocks.  A lot of rocks!

So sweet!

On the first day, the kids had their faces painted by other kids.  I laughed SOOOO hard when I saw Lexi and Myra.  Lexi looked like a skeleton version of Hello Kitty and can you guess what Myra's was suppose to be?  Apparently she's a dog, but really, she just looks like the devil.  (As I type this, I can't stop laughing!)  The funny thing was, the kids didn't know what they looked like.  So, when I got there, we found a mirror for them to look in and they were both so upset at how they looked.  I just can imagine all the leaders wondering why Myra had her face painted like a devil.  Hahahahaha!!!!!

Legos!

They had a bunch of these sand pits for the kids to play in around the park.

Open fire pits, everywhere.

Probably 100 or more tents.  Huge event!

It was such a pretty place, but they wouldn't pose for me.

Carved out of a tree.  The kids loved playing on it.
We were so excited when we found this awesome tree swing.

The 2nd day of face painting was much better!

One of the many carrot peeling stations around the park.

 Horse-Riding!

Love this picture!  Noah was so excited to ride on the big horse and not one of the ponies.  But the helmet was a bit too big and he couldn't see anything the entire ride.  He loved it though!
