Exploring

On a recent Saturday, we hopped on our bikes and headed out to explore the local woods.  It is so beautiful!  We rode around on our bikes looking for a good place to park and go exploring on foot.  We actually came upon a fairly large hill, for Denmark, and then headed up it.  We found a "path"?  Basically it was where a logging truck had driven in and cleared out deadfall.  It was the best "path" we could see, so we set out to explore.  After skipping around a few mud puddles, we found some wild raspberry plants, with a few late raspberries on them.

We ate all we could find and then dragged the kids on to do some more exploring.
We eventually came upon a couple of small foot trails that we took.  We found a ton of little frogs.
The kids just love them.
We caught Myra trying to sneak one home in the pocket of her backpack and Lexi just walked off with one for a long ways until we talked her into letting it go.
We eventually exited the trees and came upon an old orchard?
It was a really pretty area.  We decided to head back to our bikes and go further up the road.  After just a short distance, we topped the hill.  The forest opened up and there was a museum right there, in the middle of the woods!  We had no idea!  It was just a small museum about astronomy.  We took about 20 minutes and walked around looking at the old Astronomy instruments
and the Viking Skeleton they dug up in there area.

It was a fun find!  After that, we headed home.  We really enjoyed this outing!
