Rollespil

Myra got to go and participate in the bi-annual big Rollespil (Role-Playing) activity at the beginning of April.  Several schools participate.  They are all divided into different groups and they have different roles in the game.  Some kids are fighters, sellers, healers, etc.  Some groups of kids are Ogres, some are part of royalty, some are peasants.  Each year they come up with a story.  I don't know all the details this year, but I know there was a wedding, where the groom was poisoned by the ogres, so they had to go to battle over it.  Lexi and I went up one afternoon to check things out.  (Lexi's class didn't get to participate this year, she was pretty sad about it.)  We were surprised that we even found Myra, with several hundred kids running crazy through the forest. But, we did find her and she showed us around.  It was really fun to see.  And pretty crazy.  I think that some people go specifically into education, just so they can participate in the kids rollespil.  We had been watching from a distance at one point, but then the battle came towards us and we were caught right in the middle of it.  It was pretty intense.
I just love that the kids get to participate in things like this.  I love that they are having such fun experiences!

This Ogre's name is Boss Boss and the kids talk about him all the time, about how scary he is.  I was excited to get a good picture.

Right in the middle of the action!

Lexi can't wait to participate next time, in the fall.
Myra is usually a healer, but on the last day, she decided to be a fighter.  She was pretty excited about it.
